

The Manager Simon Courtenay-Warren started his catering career in 1979 as a management trainee with Grand Metropolitan Hotels at The Falcon Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. After a change of direction in the early eighties (as a photo-journalist working for a defence publication in Europe) he re-joined the hotel industry in 1984 as an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with Celebrated Country Hotels at Billesley Manor near Stratford-upon-Avon. In 1986 he moved south and was appointed House Manager of the prestigious Royal Berkshirein Ascot before joining the Savoy Group as Personnel & Training Manager at the celebrated Lygon Arms in Broadway. He returned to the West Midlands in 1990 in the role of Deputy General Manager at the newly built Brookes Hotel in Solihull before his first general management appointment with the Arcadian Group in 1994. During this period he worked at a number of Arcadian four-star properties including The Priest House-on-the-River near Derby and Hotel L'Horizon in Jersey before joining the Al Habtoor Hotel Group in Dubai. In 2001 Simon was appointed General Manager of the independently owned Old Government House Hotel. Simon is married and enjoys horse riding, polo and photography.
